Everyone started to wave their little Singapore flags enthusiastically to welcome the trio who had just gone through a rigorous flight plan to return home. |

That is partly why whenever they are held, coaches, teachers, physiotherapists and sports administrators register for them without much hesitation. The other reason is that Boccia, a sport designed for the severely disabled, is gaining popularity and recognition in the world. More and more countries are identifying the need to professionalize the sport. |

Disabled swimmers were invited to showcase their abilities at the 47th National Interschool Swimming Championship held at Toa Payoh Swimming Complex on 12 July. This was the first time that a local national championship had integrated events for the disabled. Needless to say, it was a exhilarating experience for the disabled athletes, SDSC staff and crowd who attended the event. |
