On 22nd July 2005, both junior and adult athletes congregated together at Bukit Gombak Stadium. It was a hot and sunny day, but the weather did not break anyone’s spirit as everyone was eagerly anticipating the start of the National Track And Field Meet.

Our welcoming party finally saw the team of three emerge from the crowd at the arrival gate of Changi Terminal 1. Although it was already late at night, every sleepy head perked up. That is partly why whenever they are held, coaches, teachers, physiotherapists and sports administrators register for them without much hesitation. More and more countries are identifying the need to professionalize the sport.

Towards our nation’s ideal - 47th National Interschool Swimming Championship (Media)

Disabled swimmers were invited to showcase their abilities at the 47th National Interschool Swimming Championship held at Toa Payoh Swimming Complex on 12 July. This was the first time that a local national championship had integrated events for the disabled. Needless to say, it was a exhilarating experience for the disabled athletes, SDSC staff and crowd who attended the event.
