Lifting heads high and bearing smiles, the Singapore team entered the Team Welcome arena under a moving atmosphere, as songs on unity and human excellence sung by celebrities such as Andy Lau and A-Mei played melodiously in the background.

Paralympic Order Recipients 2008 Honoured (Media)

Bonn, Germany - The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) honoured the recipients of the 2008 Paralympic Order last week as the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games came to a close. This year, the Paralympic Order was given to several people for their commitment to the success of the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games in the Chinese capital on 18 September.

For the first time, the Paralympic Games Opening and Closing Ceremonies will be shown on Singapore TV. Singapore audiences will also have a chance to watch Paralympians in action in a daily highlights show from 6 pm to 7 pm daily till next Wednesday, 17th September 2008.

As thousands of people watched on at the competition arena in Shatin, Hongkong, tonight, Singapore rider Laurentia Tan strutted ‘Nothing to Lose’ confidently through an Oriental melody, despite her inability to hear the music. She skillfully maneuvered Harvey through a course of shouldering, walking and trotting, impressing judges to a 70.167% finish, successfully gaining Singapore its second bronze medal at the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games.
