Asean Para Games gets RM4mil help from Govt

PUTRAJAYA: The Asean Para Games to be hosted by Malaysia from Aug 15-19 received a short (sic) in the arm when the Cabinet allocated RM4mil for hosting the Games.

Swimming to Gold

Born with muscular dystrophy which has weakened much of her body, Yip Pin Xiu is one of Singapore’s most-loved athletes. She put Paralympians in the limelight last year after her awesome achievements in the pool. Hers is an inspiring story of how hard work and determination do really make dreams come true.

Paralympic gold medalist Yip Pin Xiu dazzled the crowd at the National Swimming Championship 2009 by winning the gold medal in the 50m backstroke (S3) in a world record timing* of 00:57.46s.
