APSN Katong School champions at the 2nd National Special Schools Swimming Championship 2011 (Media)

The second edition of the National Special Schools Swimming Championship 2011 held at Singapore Sports School came to a close last Friday, 25 March 2011 with APSN Katong School clinching the Challenge Trophy. This year, the championship saw a total of 98 aspiring swimmers from 12 special schools which was a double fold increase from the inaugural edition.

The second edition of the National Special Schools Track and Field Championship 2011 saw a total of 218 young aspiring athletes from 11 special schools take part. Held at Toa Payoh Stadium, registration for this year’s athletics meet grew by an encouraging 30 per cent.

The Singapore Disability Sports Council (SDSC) held the first-ever This-Ability Sports Carnival at Toa Payoh Stadium today. In promotion of sports inclusion and to create awareness of disability sports, SDSC hopes to inspire people with or without disabilities to understand the importance of rehabilitative sports and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
