Day 4 of 3rd ASEAN Para Games

12 Gold, 7 Silver & 6 Bronze Medals for Singapore After Day 4 of the 3rd ASEAN Para Games 2005

After 4 days of competition, Singapore has collected 12 Gold, 7 Silver and 6 Bronze medals at the 3rd ASEAN Para Games which is currently being held in Manila, Philippines.

Our swimmers have won a total of 9 Gold, 3 Silver and 3 Bronze medals. 3 of the Gold medals were contributed by Ms Theresa Goh, 18, who also demolished two FESPIC games record in the process.

The Track & Field athletes added a further 3 Gold, 4 Silver and 3 Bronze medals to Singapore’s tally, of which rising-star Muhammad Firdaus Bin Nordin, 17, won 2 Gold and 1 Silver.

Singapore’s’ contingent has already surpassed the 2nd ASEAN Para Games medal tally of 19 medals, where 10 Gold, 8 Silver and 1 Bronze medals were won in Hanoi, Vietnam. We are well on track to achieving the target of 38 medals set before the contingent departed.

Our swimmers and athletes have been competing against their ASEAN counterparts in the biennial regional sporting competition and they have broken numerous records on their way to achieving glory for their nation.

The competition will come to a close tomorrow, Tuesday, 20th December 2005 with the Singapore contingent due to arrive at Changi International Airport on Wednesday, 21st December 2005 via flight SQ 73 at 5.45pm.
