4th National Junior Swimming Championship 2005

Mr Heng Chee How, Minister of State, Ministry of Trade and Industry and Mayor of Central Singapore District will be the Guest-of-Honour at the 4th National Junior Swimming Championship 2005 which will be held this Saturday, 2nd April 2005 between 8.30am and 4.00pm at the Ministry of Education’s Co-Curricular Activities Branch (CCAB) located at 21 Evans Road.

The National Junior Swimming Championship is an annual event of the Singapore Disability Sports Council (SDSC) which has always attracted keen interest from young athletes and sports enthusiasts.  The national junior swimming championship serves as a spring board for our young swimmers to eventually represent Singapore at various international championships.

More than 110 participants from 13 SDSC affiliates such as the Society for the Physically Disabled and Handicaps Welfare Association will be competing in this year’s championship.

Swimming was one of the 3 sports which Singapore participated at the Athens 2004 Paralympic Games. The national junior swimming championship helps to spur many young Singaporean swimmers to make their presence felt at future regional and international competitions.
