22 sailors will be taking part in the Regatta, the largest number for any disabled sailing regatta in Singapore to date.
This Sunday, make your way down to the Changi Sailing Club for the biggest disabled sailing regatta in Singapore. The Sailability Singapore Regatta 2006 has attracted a total of 22 competitors, significantly higher than the previous record of highest participation - 14 competitors.
Among the many talented disabled sailors in action, you will witness the expertise of Abdul Karim Bin Din, ranked No. 1 in the local disabled sailing scene; Desiree Lim and Jovin Tan - the first female Paralympian and the youngest Paralympian in Singapore, respectively.
The Sailability Singapore Regatta 2006 is organised jointly by Singapore Disability Sports Council (SDSC) and Sailability Singapore. Open to all boats of the Access 2.3 (disabled sailing dinghy), there are nine races scheduled for this event.

Based in Changi Sailing Club, the Sailability Singapore programme was launched to introduce sailing to the disabled community in Singapore and realize their inclusion in sports and recreation. The programme was made possible by Singapore Disability Sports Council, with the support of Singapore Sports Council, Singapore Sailing Federation, Changi Sailing Club and the sponsorship of a few corporations, namely the Neptune Orient Line Group. It is Sailability Singapore’s vision that one day, more and more people with disabilities can participate in sailing and excel in the sports at various regional and international regattas and championships
