SINGAPORE ATHLETES CLAIM THIRD PLACE IN THE BC3 PAIRS CATEGORY AT 2ND SINGAPORE BOCCIA INVITATIONAL OPEN 2008

The Team and Pairs final of the 2nd Singapore Boccia Invitational Open 2008, held in the Jurong East Sports Hall, ended yesterday with Team Singapore athletes bagging the third place for the BC3 Pairs category.

Singaporean pairs comprising of player Toh Sze Ning and Nurulasyiqah , managed to secure the third place after finishing behind Thailand and Hong Kong who took the first and second placings respectively.
In the Team Category, Team Malaysia clinched the first place followed by Hong Kong and Japan. Team Singapore came in a close fourth position.

Held for the second time in Singapore, this 2nd Boccia Invitational Open sees the participation of athletes from nine countries – Chinese Taipei, Macau, Hong Kong, Japan, Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Kuwait, Thailand and Singapore . Mr Tan Ju Seng, President of the Singapore National Paralympic Council presented the medals to the winners at the closing ceremony last night held at the Grand Mercure Roxy hotel.
