Message from Mr Kevin Wong: Launch of website and SDSC Touch

Welcome to the Singapore Disability Sports Council’s first enewsletter – SDSC Touch.  This monthly resource serves to complement our extensive efforts to reach out to more Singaporeans with disabilities to take up sports and lead an active and healthy life.

As a national body responsible for promoting sports to Singaporeans with all forms of disability, technology is an important ally for our cause. It enables us to overcome existing physical limitations and constraints and reach out to individuals with disabilities, their family members and friends more effectively than ever.

SDSC is increasingly leveraging on technology to raise awareness and enhance understanding on the benefits of and need for individuals with disability to remain active.
That is why we actively sought and created this disability sports resource and information hub online.

Not only is our website newly revamped, it can now be accessed by persons of all forms of disability, from visual impairment to physical disabilities.  For information on classifications, upcoming events, volunteering or even making a donation, our website is a convenient one-stop portal.

Similar to technology, disability sports in Singapore is rapidly evolving. But at SDSC, we are prepared. We have a new, young and energetic team in place to lead Singapore ahead and with a specific focus of bringing back Singapore’s first Paralympic medal at the Beijing 2008 Paralympics.

Please do enjoy this initial resource and feel free to comment or recommend improvements.  We are committed to making our communications user friendly and, more importantly, well resourced for your needs.

Wishing you a pleasant ‘surfing’ experience,

Kevin Wong
