Sports Development Manager

The Singapore Disability Sports Council (SDSC) is the national sports body for the promotion and development of disability sports. We provide a wide range of disability sports programmes and are looking for dynamic individuals to join our team as:

Sports Development Manager

The Sports Development Manager will be overall in charge of and to be responsible for the conceptualization, promotion, development and implementation of all SDSC’s sports, training and development programme.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Implement SDSC’s sports programmes for the disabled community
  • Be overall responsible for the promotion, implementation and running of sports, training and development
  • Plan, co-ordinate and organize recreational sports and fitness activities (eg mass sporting events, learn to play schemes and fitness courses) for members – the young, adults and the elderly.
  • Supervise, conduct and implement sports seminars, programmes and workshops.
  • To monitor the running, progress and development of all SDSC’s sports programmes.
  • To maintain a database of records, athletes and coaches.
  • To collaborate with members’ affiliates and national sports organizations on the promotion of disabled sports in Singapore
  • To co-ordinate, supervise and assist members’ affiliates in the promotion of the respective sports (for example: increase popularity of the sports, recruit athletes, promote proper establishment of youth development, and enhance current level / status of respective sports)
  • To administer the Sports Excellence programme and Sports for all programme.
  • To implement the Sports-on-Wheels programme and Junior Development programme.
  • To provide secretariat support to SDSC’s sports conveners as well as attend related committee meetings
  • To liaise with the relevant public and private authorities and / or companies on all matters related to the promotion of sports for the disabled.
  • To plan, organize and run all SDSC’s national sports championships/ meets.
  • To carry out any duties and / or projects as and when assigned by Chairman, Disability Sport Committee or Executive Director
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • At least a graduate in Sports Science/ Physical Education or other sports related discipline
  • Min 4 to 5 years of relevant experience in Sports related
  • Ability to work irregular hours and weekend
  • Is a team player who is confident, resourceful , willing to learn and multi task
  • Has excellent organizational, communication & interpersonal skills
