Interested to participate in the Ironman 70.3 Singapore Triathlon?

Information on Ironman 70.3 Singapore Triathlon

For the first time ever, Singapore has been selected as the latest venue to host the international qualifying event for the 2007 Ford Ironman 70.3 World Championships. This is the first time Singapore has ever hosted an Ironman 70.3 and also the first in Asia to host this renowned triathlon.

Sponsored by Aviva, the Ironman 70.3 Singapore race will be held on the 2nd September 2007. This inaugural event is managed and organised by Hi-Tri Pte Ltd, a sports event management company.

The Singapore Ironman 70.3 will consist of a 1.9km swim, a 90km bike and a 21km run. The total distance for the race adds up to 70.3 miles, hence the name Ironman 70.3. The course for the triathlon will be centered on the Marina Bay area.

SDSC’s collaboration with Hi-Tri

Hi-Tri, the organiser for the Singapore Ironman 70.3 hopes to bring in disabled athletes who wish to challenge themselves and go beyond their limits.

TriZEN, a triathlon club founded in June 2006, feels that Singapore triathlons should be made more accessible to the disabled athletes as well. They are prepared to help train these athletes for triathlons even beyond the 70.3.

To have a disabled athlete brave through the three legs of the triathlon and complete the race will not be easy. But with enough determination, courage and training, completion of the race will grant you the highest amount of respect you can ever receive as an athlete. Your success story will be one to remember for a long time.

SDSC and Hi-Tri are willing to give the utmost support if you want to realise this dream. Hi-Tri has agreed to support you with good training equipment while TriZEN will have experienced instructors to help prepare and train you for the triathlon.

Call for Participation

If you see yourself taking part in the triathlon in either one or all three legs of the race, if you can hear the cheers from the supporters as you past the finish line or if you can feel the inspiration that you will be for the other athletes, it is time to put yourself to the test. The stage is set, the expertise and equipment will be provided and you have our support. This dream only lacks a decision, your decision.

This is a rare chance for you to show the rest of the world, what you are able of. So don’t miss it!
