Laureus World Sports Awards Nominees

On 27 February 2007, the nominees for the Sixth Laureus World Sports Awards were announced. The Laureus World Sports Awards celebrate excellent performance made by athletes across all disciplines and all continents.

The nominees for the category of Laureus World Sportsperson of the Year with a Disability are:

• Edith Hunkeler, Switzerland - Athletics
• Esther Vergeer, Netherlands - Wheelchair Tennis
• Javier Ochoa, Spain - Cycling
• Kazem Rajabi Golojeh, Iran - Powerlifting
• Kurt Fearnley, Australia - Athletics
• Martin Braxenthaler, Germany - Alpine Skiing

These nominations for the World Sportsperson of the Year with a Disability category are submitted by a specialist Selection Panel from the International Paralympic Committee (IPC).

Join the moment of celebration on 2 April when the winner of the award is announced in Barcelona, Spain!
