Interest Sports Group (ISG) Grant

Introduction

The ISG Grant is a sports interest grant to encourage sports activities and programmes among the disabled community. The ISG Grant can be used by recreational sports groups to look after their own interest and can also be used by member organisations of SDSC to form their own Interest Sport Groups (ISG)s.

Eligibility

Applicants of ISG Grant must be Singapore citizens. However, those with Permanent Residence status whose citizenship application has been supported by MCYS/SSC may also apply.

ISGs who applied successfully for the ISG Grant for a sporting activity/programme can apply for the ISG Grant again for the same sporting activity/programme, provided the new application is at least one year after the previous application.

To be eligible for ISG – 1 Grant, ISG must adhere to and provide the following:

  1. A minimum membership base of 10 disabled players for individual sports OR a minimum of 3 teams for team sports;
  2. lesson/training plan(s);
  3. a programme that has a duration of at least 2 months; and
  4. an administrator in the ISG/Organisation.

To be eligible for ISG – 2 Grant, ISG must adhere to and provide the following:

  1. Fulfill all eligibility criteria as stated in ISG – 1 Grant;
  2. A minimum membership base of 30 disabled players for individual sports.
  3. An annual training plan(s) for the development, sponsorship and promotion of the sport;
  4. A programme that has a duration of at least 6 months and which runs once a week;
  5. 3 administrators (a President, a Secretary and a Treasurer) in the ISG/organisation.

To be eligible for ISG – 3 Grant, ISG must adhere to and provide the following:

  1. Fulfill all eligibility criteria as stated in ISG – 2 Grant;
  2. A minimum membership base of 50 disabled players for individual sports.
  3. A multi-year plan for the development, sponsorship and promotion of the sport;
  4. A programme that has duration of at least 1 year and which runs three times a week.

To be eligible for ISG - Club, ISG must adhere to and provide the following:

  1. Fulfil all eligibility criteria as stated in ISG – 3 Grant;
  2. a registered club/society/organisation with the Registry of Societies (ROS);
  3. have a proper administrative set-up (President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer) with an identified auditor.

Terms and Conditions of the Scheme
  1. The application must reach SDSC at least 2 months before the commencement of the activity/programme.
  2. The ISG must submit a proposal of their programme (which should include all programme details & plans), and a proposed budget for the programme, together with the ISG Grant application form.
  3. SDSC reserves the right to turn down any application if all necessary documents are not received, not forthcoming or submitted too near the actual event/activity.

Quantum of Grants

The total amount of grants per year for each successful applicants will be capped as follows:

ISG – Club : Up to $50,000
ISG – 3 : $ Up to 10,000
ISG – 2 : $ Up to 7,000
ISG – 1 : $ Up to 3,000

Disbursement of Grants
  1. Approved ISG grants will be made payable to the name of the person/organisation stated in the application form. The person/organisation will be responsible for managing the funds and will be accountable for the disbursed grants.
  2. The first disbursement, which is 50% of any approved grants according to each level (ISG 1, ISG 2, etc), will be released within 1 month upon confirmation that the application is successful.
  3. 50% of the funds will be disbursed upon approval. Remaining funds will only be released to the successful applicant upon completion of the activity/programme, subject to the compliance by the successful applicant with all terms and conditions applicable to the grant of such funds, including but not limited to the submission of the post-event/programme report, statement of accounts, etc.
  4. The applicant must also prepare a statement of accounts for the second disbursement, stating clearly the Proposed Budget and the Final Expenditure, and must be accompanied by all the relevant and original receipts and invoices (certified true copies if necessary).
  5. The second disbursement will only be released within 1 month upon submission of the final report, statement of accounts for the activity/programme and/or other relevant reports as requested for by SDSC.
  6. Should the Final Expenditure be less than the approved grant requested for, the second disbursement will only be to match the remaining balance after subtracting the first disbursement amount. No surplus ISG Grant should remain after the activity/programme.
  7. SDSC reserves the right to disburse any funding for item(s) that was/were not budgeted for during the first application. For such items, the Final Expenditure will exclude all amounts incurred for this non-budgeted item(s).
