Ex- and current athletes invited to National Stadium closure

To all athletes and ex-athletes with disability,

The National Stadium holds fond memories for many of us and she has served us well over the years. But the time has come to bid her goodbye. We would like to invite you to join us as we celebrate her life on Saturday, 30 June 2007 from 5pm.

Relive the Malaysia Cup days through an exhibition soccer match between veterans from Singapore and Malaysia, then watch the Lions take on the Socceroos. Snack to your heart’s content as we recreate the good old days with concession store runners hawking curry puffs, crackers and drinks. After the last ball has been kicked, the closing ceremony will commence featuring Team Singapore athletes, a ceremonial dousing of the flame and a fireworks and light display.

The programme for the evening is as follows:

5.00 pm :  Pre-Game Show (Singapore Veterans vs Malaysia Veterans)
7.00 pm :  Cauldron Light Up
7.30 pm :  Singapore vs Australia
9.30 pm :  Closing Ceremony
10.00 pm :  End of Programme
10.00 pm till late :  Lights Out – The National Stadium Closing Party (presented by Zouk, tickets sold separately)

We would like to invite you and your families to this event.

Please kindly contact Hui Ling at or 6342 3503, if you and your family would like to join us, by Friday, 15 June 2007. Please also state the sport you are or were involved in.

We hope to see you soon at this memorable occasion!
