then YOU are THE ONE we’re looking for!

Yes you heard us right! SDSC is looking for budding writers to join the DARE Editorial Team! Love writing and reporting events? Looking for an opportunity to learn the ropes of journalism? Then you are the best candidate for our editorial team!

Fear not if inexperience is what is holding you back from signing up for the job. It’s a learning process for us as much as it is for you!

DARE is a monthly e-newsletter that features articles on disabled sports, the latest sporting events, and basically everything and anything you wish to know about sports and the disabled! Established for a year now, the Editorial Team is made up mainly of volunteer writers who cover local and international sporting events such as the National Track and Field Championship and the Ironman 70.3.

Besides reporting and updating readers on the latest happenings in the disabled sporting arena, the e-newsletter also seeks to develop readers’ understanding of disability sports through engaging and refreshing articles like the Trivia and health articles. For example, as featured in the March issue of Touch e-newsletter, did you know that on 31 August 2005, 32 year-old athlete, Sergey Burlakov, was the first person to fly an aircraft without arms or legs. Amazing isn’t it?

If you are all set and ready to join the DARE family, simply contact us at to find out more and you’re on your way to a fulfilling and enjoyable experience!
