Bonn, Germany – Following the appointment of all International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Sport Technical Committee Chairpersons in April 2007, the IPC recently appointed the remaining Committee members.
Individuals were chosen following an extensive review process which included for some positions a series of interviews conducted by the relevant IPC Sports Technical Committee Chairperson, IPC Sports Manager and IPC Governing Board Members.

Some of the positions are still to be filled. Through the new IPC Sports Governance and Management Initiative, the IPC ensures the placement of qualified experts to oversee the sports technical aspects of each sport. The purpose of this initiative is to strengthen the operational efficiency, resource capacity and technical competency of the IPC Sports necessary to achieve quality service delivery, self-sustainability and self-governance.
With the appointment of all IPC Sport Technical Committee Chairpersons and Members, the IPC aims to further promote this Initiative and ultimately ensure the success of the IPC Sports.
The International Paralympic Committee
The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) is the global governing body of the Paralympic Movement. The IPC organizes the Summer and Winter Paralympic Games, and serves as the International Federation for 12 sports, for which it supervises and co-ordinates the World Championships and other competitions. The IPC is committed to enabling Paralympic athletes to achieve sporting excellence and to developing sport opportunities for all persons with a disability from the beginner to elite level.
