The following five new events at KL ‘09 ASEAN PARA GAMES are up for nominations:
1) T45 800m - Minimum Qualifying Standard (MQS): 2:58.22
2) T45 1500m - New Event
3) F54 Shot Putt - New Event
4) F54 Discus - New Event
5) F54 Javelin - New event

Eligibility:
Age
15 years old and above, as of 31 December 2009.
Minimum Qualifying Standards
Athletes must obtain results that equates or surpasses the 3rd placing timings / achievements of the 4th ASEAN Para Games. Timings and achievements submitted in the nomination form must have been recorded between the period of 18 May 2008 to 18 May 2009 at recognised trials and competitions.
*Note: Recognised competitions can be host countries’ national championships or IPC-sanctioned competitions with credible organization, rules and participants, as determined by the Selection Panel.
If there were less than 3 participants in the event(s) of the 4th ASEAN Para Games, the last timing / achievement would constitute the basis for comparison.
If the event was not offered at the 4th ASEAN Para Games, comparable results must be submitted together with justification for consideration.
Athletes or teams who miss the MQS marginally but show potential to equal or surpass it may be considered for selection.
Therefore, athletes must have obtained official results equating or surpassing the MQS for T45 800m (2:58.22) at the National Track and Field Championship or other recognised trials and competitions.
Otherwise, results must be submitted with COMPARABLE JUSTIFICATIONS for the new events.
