This is the 7th International Championship organised by the Double Dutch Open Foundation for athletes with and without a physical disability. Began in 1994, this bi-annual tournament expanded the competitive events to include three other sports gradually due to its increasing popularity - sitting volleyball, wheelchair tennis and wheelchair basketball.
250 swimmers are expected to attend this event - 180 disabled swimmers and 70 able-bodied swimmers. Past participating countries include Canada, France and Norway.
