6 years ago, Mohd Firdaus Bin Nordin had his first race on a wheelchair at a track and field meet. Although he was only 13 years old and a skinny little lad then, he won the race. Today, Firdaus is one of the world’s top 8 fastest wheelchair racers, and the first Singaporean to qualify for the Beijing 2008 Paralympics!
The National Track and Field Meet is coming again, and we welcome all youths and adults with disability to try out the different track and field events at the meet. Who knows, you may be the next Firdaus or the first Singaporean discus or javelin-thrower to break into the world sporting scene!
You can also meet with Firdaus and many other established athletes and speak to them on how to finish that race faster or throw that discus farther. Tips are free!
So come on down and join us at the track!
The National Track and Field Meet 2007 is open to participants of
1. Age 7 and above
2. All Functional Disabilities, Hearing Impairment, Visual Impairment & Intellectual Disabilities
