Singapore Disability Sports Council (SDSC) is organizing a joint Flag Day with Riding for the Disabled (RDA), for the second year running.
Flag Day is a fund-raising event where registered charitable organizations with National Council of Social Service are allowed to carry out street collection from the public appealing for donations.
SDSC is the only national sports body for the disabled in Singapore. A registered voluntary organisation with the Commissioner of Charities, SDSC’s goal is to promote, through sports, the well-being of the disabled in Singapore, helping them to live full and independent lives.
RDA, also a registered non-profit charity, provides free therapy through horse riding to individuals of all ages with physical and intellectual disabilities. For someone who can’t walk, see and communicate, riding a horse allows them to experience a new sense of freedom and independence as well as enhancing one’s self esteem.
Though different in outlook, both SDSC and RDA share a common mission and commitment of helping disabled Singaporeans to lead an independent and fulfilling life.
Fund-raising is imperative to both of us. Donations from the public and sponsorships from corporate organisations will certainly go a long way in helping us to continue providing programmes and therapy which will benefit our disabled members.
For Registration
Registration is on a first-come-first-served basis. Please download the registration forms and email to Ben Loh.
Download the Flag Day Volunteer Form for Organizations here.
Download the Flag Day Volunteer Form for Individuals/Families here.
Please note that for withdrawal from Flag Day, registered participants must inform SDSC at least 3 weeks before the actual event. This is to ensure that all volunteers are available on that day of fund-raising. Hope you understand our situation.
