6 May 2026 – The Singapore Disability Sports Council (SDSC) today announced a significant new partnership with Musim Mas, one of the world’s leading integrated agribusiness groups. Musim Mas has made a generous donation of $100,000 to support SDSC’s national para table tennis programme, marking one of the most substantial contributions to para table tennis development in Singapore.
The announcement was celebrated at an evening that brought together Musim Mas representatives and Singapore’s national para table tennis athletes — from seasoned competitors to the newest faces in the development pipeline — in a friendly match that put donor partners and athletes side by side at the table.
The Musim Mas donation will be directed towards athlete development, training support, equipment, and programme costs that sustain the competitive pipeline — from pre-development talent all the way through to high performance.
Ms Kelly Fan, Executive Director of SDSC, said: “This partnership with Musim Mas signals a shared commitment to closing the gap in how para athletes are supported. It enables us to strengthen key parts of the pathway — training access, equipment, and competition exposure — so para athletes can progress within a more equitable and structured system.”
Mr Alvin Lim, Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director of Musim Mas Holdings, presented the cheque to SDSC at the evening’s ceremony. Mr Lim said: “At Musim Mas, we see inclusion as something that must be built deliberately. Partnering SDSC allows us to support efforts to close existing gaps in para sport, so athletes have fairer access to the training, resources, and opportunities needed to progress.”
The evening featured a friendly match in which Musim Mas representatives paired with para athletes from SDSC and SDSC’s member – the Table Tennis Association for the Disabled Singapore (TTADS), offering guests a direct and personal experience of the speed, skill, and competitive spirit that defines the sport. The match included players from across SDSC’s talent pathway — from national-level competitors to athletes in their early stages of development.
Among the athletes who took part in the evening’s match was Debbie Ong, 12, a member of SDSC’s pre-development team who has been training in para table tennis for the past two years.

Diagnosed with osteosarcoma — a form of bone cancer — at the age of six, Debbie underwent extensive treatment that ultimately resulted in her using a prosthetic leg. Rather than let her condition define her limits, Debbie channelled her energy into sport.
Today, Debbie trains weekly with SDSC’s para table tennis pre-development team. At just 12 years old, she competed in Wednesday’s friendly match alongside national athletes and Musim Mas representatives — holding her own at the table as part of the very programme that Musim Mas’s donation will help sustain and grow.
“I really love table tennis because it makes me feel fast and strong. When I first started, it was hard, but now I look forward to training every week. I want to keep getting better and maybe one day play for Singapore.” Debbie shared.
